The Story

Fresh Porcini Mushrooms (Boletus edulis)

Fresh Porcini Mushrooms known in Italy as Porcini or “little pigs” are prized for their firm texture, earthy aroma, and naturally nutty, savory flavor. Harvested exclusively in the wild, porcini grow under oak, chestnut, pine, and spruce trees and are hand-picked during a short seasonal window, making them a true gourmet delicacy.

Perfect for risotto, pasta, sauces, soups, steaks, and vegetarian dishes, porcini turn wonderfully golden and aromatic when sautéed in butter with garlic and herbs. Their rich, meaty character elevates both simple and refined recipes.

How to Prepare

• Clean gently with a mushroom brush or kitchen towel
• Avoid soaking (quick rinse only if needed)
• Trim the ends and slice before cooking
• Always cook before eating

Best cooking methods: sautéed, roasted, added to risotto, pasta, soups, or sauces.
